Best new pandemic term

The pandemic has gifted us with a slew of new terms and words that are quickly being adapted into our everyday speech.  New normal, social distancing, self-isolation, and contact tracing might be terms we hope will eventually fall out of our vernacular, but none of them are as much fun as the one I just discovered.  You’ve probably already done it and I guarantee you know others who have done it.

Are you ready for it?  Mullet Outfit.  Read it again, MULLET OUTFIT.

In these fun-filled days of endless virtual meetings, a new trend has developed.  You want to look professional, but you’re at home, you want to be comfortable, and you really don’t want to wear pants.  So, maybe you’re wearing a button-down shirt with gym shorts or a silky blouse with your llama pajama bottoms.  Maybe you’re business on the top, comfy on the bottom.  A Mullet Outfit!

Let’s face it:  No one really knows what is happening outside the view of the camera.  You could have a child hanging off your leg, dirty dishes laying behind your laptop, or you could be holding a bone for your dog under the table (no? just me?). So, why wouldn’t you wear a Mullet Outfit?

Obviously, a pandemic is not fun and something we all hoped we’d never experience, but that’s why we need to take our joy where we find it.  We’ll all be back to wearing real pants soon enough. In the meantime, take a moment to enjoy the miracle that is the Mullet Outfit.
