Meet John Safin, President / CEO
John Safin is the president and CEO of the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, the largest organization for business in the Southwest Valley.
Before taking his position with the Chamber, Safin came from a city/county economic development agency as the Retention and Expansion Director. He has over ten years of experience working in a consulting or coaching role for hundreds of business owners, managers, and other professionals in a variety of industries.
John has served on several municipal strategy, procurement, economic development, and housing development boards; short- and long-term planning committees, "Mayor's Think Tank," and "Taking Pride" groups He was small business adviser for US Congressman Harry Teague (ret.), mentor for several high school internship programs, and founded the Writer's Round Table of Phoenix in 1999; a workshop for new and establish authors that continues meeting today.
Previous work experience includes marketing and sales director for companies throughout the southwestern United States, corporate and operations positions in the restaurant and hotel industries, radio talk show host and voice over announcer, and author and writer.
Safin is a registered lobbyist with the State of Arizona, serves as a member of the President’s Community Advisory Council and Business Intelligence Advisory Board at Estrella Mountain Community College. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (West Phoenix #2729), Ordained Minister, and active with several community and civic groups. He has served on several boards of directors or committees in support of Veterans issues, education, student business groups, and fire safety.
Safin holds a BA in Communications, Associates Degree in Broadcasting, and currently working towards degrees in business administration and digital media/marketing..
